About The Record:
Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars, by Edie Brickell, is the debut album by Edie Brickell New Bohemians, blending folk, pop, and alternative rock with a laid-back, jangly sound. The album?s introspective lyrics and Brickell?s distinctive vocals captured a unique vibe, resonating with the late-?80s college radio scene. It achieved commercial success, peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, driven by the hit single What I Am, which reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a defining anthem of the era. Another notable single, Circle, also gained moderate radio play. The album?s organic sound and critical acclaim marked it as a significant release in the alternative rock movement of the late 1980s.
