50s beaded sweater Designed in Hong Kong and 1 similar items

A 1950s beaded sweater Designed in Hong Kong /The Compass Rose Virgin Islands Sz L- this GORGEOUS heavily beaded cardigan sweater, most likely cashmere, was designed for either a restaurant in St. Thomas VI or a Yacht! It is simply stunning, with tiny white seed pearl "flowers" and aurora borealis sequins all embroidered on a white lace ground over an ivory cashmere base. It is lined and edged in white silk, and has only two flaws. I found a couple of moth holes at the shoulder and at the sleeve, and you cannot see any of them without really searching. Easily repaired if they bother you. There also is one stain on the inside of the sleeve, as shown. I did have it dry-cleaned, and the satin didn't come out. But what a stunner! And in a wearable size! Would love to know why it was designed for the Compass Rose...It is marked size 46. Shown on a size 12 Model.
