She is the daughter of the mother character Harry Stone (played by Harry Anderson, who has already passed away) and follows in her father's footsteps to become a judge at the Manhattan Night Trial Court, managing a group of eccentric and cynical subordinates, especially former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding (played by John Larroquette again).
