Pink Opalescent 8 inch Swan Vintage Sylvan and 49 similar items

This is Duncan Miller's Depression era pink opalescent swan dish in the Sylvan pattern. (The Sylvan pattern was introduced in 1939.) This swan is 8 inches long, and the head/neck of the bird is 6 3/4 inches tall. The neck is gracefully shaped. I think this dish has a little less opalescence than average, but I haven't seen many Sylvan swans. The opalescence is on the rim of the dish. There is a shadow of opalescence in the tail area, for about 3 of the scallops, and very faint circles of it in the bottom. The swan is in good condition, but there is a small chip on the inner edge of the rim near the left side of the neck. It is about 8mm long and 2 mm wide. It's not very visible. There is also a mildly rough area along the inner edge to the left of that chip, for about 2 inches, and 2 small fleabites to the right of the chip. I can find no other damage. The swan weighs about 1 pound 7 ounces. before packing for shipping. I am happy to answer your questions about this piece.
