It was founded in 1954 by Boris Kliot, an entrepreneur and philanthropist who survived the Holocaust. Riviera was one of the first companies to introduce fashion eyewear to the American public. They specialized in licensed sunglass collections for brands like Bill Blass, Perry Ellis, Anne Klein and Nine West, as well as its own Riviera brand.
