Item description
UP FOR SALE IS ATHYRIUM Athyrium Niponicum 'Regal red', spores, 1000 spores.
Regal red is one of the most fantastic ferns for its bright red color especially in spring when the new fronds curl open to reveal their maroon-red coloring then they age to red for the rest of the summer. A truly stunning fern.
they are clump forming plants with a spread of 2' wide and 1' tall with delicate, feathery leaves (fronds). they need humidity and regular to moist soil. here in Seattle, they get plenty of rain, so they are a no maintenance plant. if you live in a dry climate, plant them on the north side in shade, keep the soil moist and spray them often. grow them outdoors only.
these ferns are deer and rabbit resistant and are not bothered by bugs, slugs or disease.
perennial deciduous, hardy.
Zone: 5-9
Sun: full shade to dappled shade.
Water: regular to moist.
Soil: rich, loamy, well-draining soil.
Height: 1' tall and 2' wide.
Bloom time: no flowers.
