Item description
This is the fourth album by American guitarist Kaki King and it is from 2008. She has an innovative style that involves picking the guitar with both hands at times, while also percussively slapping its body in time. The music is said to exist between major and minor, happy and sad. The title song comes from a quote from the artist Gauguin: ?Life being what it is, we all dream of revenge.? King has attracted acclaim from other musician including Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, who had King play on the band?s album Echoes, Silence, Patience Grace. The two groups toured Australia together. Grohl was quoted at a concert saying, ?There are really good guitarists, and then there are really [expletive] good guitarists,. And then there?s Kaki King.? The album was produced by Malcolm Burn (Dylan, Emmylou Harris). This one is way underrated. All the instumentalization is outstanding.
