Item description
Fascinating find at a very upscale estate sale. We really were not sure whether the material was bone (as we originally thought), catalin, wood or stone. Or possibly coral or even ivory. We were able to systematically cross all of those off the list with help from experts, finally hearing from someone who is a carver and identified it as likely bovine bone carving. Intricately done and looks to have been worn. The clasp is 14K indicating it was likely highly thought of (as opposed to sterling or a lesser material).
Necklace is 18? long. See photos. Beautiful craftsmanship.
