Offered is a 1967 Queen Mother signed Christmas card with a photograph of the monarch off the coast of Newfoundland. The wife of England?s King George VI, and the mother of Queen Elizabeth II, Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon was queen of the United Kingdom and the Dominions from her husband's accession in 1936 until his death in 1952, after which she was known as Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, to avoid confusion with her daughter. The Queen Mother has signed ?from Elizabeth R? in blue pen on the left interior panel of the ivory cardstock 9OE x 15oe-inch Royal Christmas Card from 1967. She has signed below the printed greeting ?With Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year? printed in black type. At the right of the card is a color 6OE x 6oe-inch photo of the Queen Mother in a light blue sleeveless dress and blue feather hat on the Royal Yacht with the British Navy flag at her left. The photo is captioned ?Off Newfoundland 1967? in black type. The front cover of the folio has an embossed gold crown seal in the center but is stained with residue of glue and blue paper mounting on both the front and back covers.
