Anthony first day coin "covers", 1979, Frank Gasparo This is a set of three First Day Specimens issued by the Postal Commemorative Society in 1979 to mark the first day the Susan B. Anthony dollar coin was circulated that year. The set includes three addressed covers and coins, one each from the Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco mints, all the Frank Gasparo design. The coins are uncirculated and are part of the cover design, with the coin encapsulated in a clear window. (See photos.) Each cover design is different and features a black and white image of the mint where the coin was made. The covers are all postmarked July 2, 1979 in the mint city of issue, and stamped with a 15-cent flag stamp, Scott #1597. (Note: The flag stamp was issued in 1978.) The three covers are mounted on a Postal Commemorative Society page with a three hole punch. Each page has a statement of authenticity. All three are in good condition.
