Item description
"And so, we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."
This one stole my heart. What a romantic image from the age of The Great Gatsby! She reminds me so much of "The beautiful little fool" character, Daisy Buchanan, Gatsby's long sought love. "Gatsby believed in the green light..."
Signed F. Aquadro. I don't know the source of the information on the back, but I found a painting online ascribed to Felice Aquadro. There is also a Frederico Aquadro listed in Mallet and Davenports who lived in St. Louis. The last photo is of Lois Wilson, who played Daisy in an early movie version of The Great Gatsby.
Oil on artistboard, c. 1920s 20" x 16". Outside frame dimensions are 27" x 23" FREE SHIPPING!
