Item description
Rubus idaeus "Carolinme" everbearing raspberry is a fall-fruiting cultivar produvcing high yields of large, highly flvored, red raspberries witch are perfect for fresh eating or preserves. This upright, self-fruitful, thorny shrub has a shorter harvest season than most, producing beries for about 8 weeks in late summer. Caroline is widely adapted, growing everywhere from the East Coast to the West Coast. This variety does not tolerate high heat and drought. A full sun to part shade lover, this plant is best grown in organically rich, slightly acidic but well-drained soil. For best result, plant in a sheltered, sunny position. They tolerate light shade, but the yield is likely to be reduced.
Fall-bearing (everbearing) primocane with a summer crop. Floricane berries ripen in July. Primocane berries ripen in September through frost. Self-pollinating.
Grows up to 3-4 ft. tall and wide.
The best time to plant raspberry is Fall.
Propagate from suckers.
Best in Zones: 4 - 7
