*Note- Lower number (Coarse) blade tools (8, 10, 12) are
commonly used for prep work, thinning on coat and then coat is finished off
with a 20 (Fine) blade tool
8 Blade size is best for Prep Work, Thinning Out VERY
Coarse, Thick Hair/Fur/Coats
10 Blade size is best for Prep Work, Thinning Out
Coarse, Thick Hair/Fur/Coats
12 Blade size is best for Medium Thickness
Hair/Fur/Coats
20 Blade size is best for Finishing and Thick,
Shaggy or Long Hair/Fur/Coats
MANY
BREEDS REQUIRE 2 or more strippers-One to remove or thin undercoat and then a
second to "finish" coat and give it a smooth appearance. A general
rule of thumb is use coarser tooth(less blades)for prep work and thinning out
undercoat, finer tooth(more blades) for finishing.
Two Strippers are commonly used to properly strip coat, especially on matted
dogs- Lower number (Coarse) blade tools (8, 10, 12) are commonly used for prep
work, thinning of coat and then coat is ?finished off? with a 16 or 20 (Fine)
blade tool.
For example, if you use a 8 or 10 blade first you would finish with a 16 blade
tool. Use a 10 or 12 then finish with a 20.
8 Blade size is best for Dematting, Prep Work, Thinning Out VERY Coarse, Thick
Hair/Fur/Coats
10 Blade size is best for Prep Work, Thinning Out Coarse, Thick Hair/Fur/Coats
12 Blade size is best for Medium Thickness Hair/Fur/Coats
16 or 20 Blade size is best for Finishing and Thick, Shaggy or Long
Hair/Fur/Coats

WAYS TO USE STRIPPER TOOLS:
1.) Stripping, Dematting, Detangling Coat Undercoat: The undercoat is the
soft, downy fur that lies underneath the top coat. Our stripper tools are great
for bulk stripping of the undercoat during peak shedding seasons. They can also
be used as needed to clear out mats, tangles and any loose, dead hair. An
undercoat that is able to "breathe" is better able to act as a dog's
natural insulation.
2.) Stripping Guard Hairs: Guard hairs are the coarse outer hairs on a dog's
coat. On certain wire-haired breeds like terriers, the wiry coat has a cycle
where it starts growing and then sheds as it reaches its maximum length.
Stripping these guard hairs in conjunction with this shedding cycle makes room
for the new coat to grow. Removing loose, dead hairs that are dull and faded
allows new guard hairs to come in, showing the dog's true rich color and
creating a more uniform, water-resistant coat.
3.) Carding: For some Sporting breeds like cocker spaniels, Springer spaniels
and golden retrievers, the outer coat can be so soft that it starts to curl up
on the dog's back. You can run a stripper tool across the curly section to cut
the curls and give the dog a smoother, more finished top line.
Instructions
how to use are included on back of package.
Directions for use: Using light pressure, comb stripper
through coat in the direction of hair growth. Do not go against or aside hair
growth as this will result in excessive cutting of hair. Use only once a week
to prevent removing too much coat. Not recommended for daily use.
Care: Remove excess hair from blades by hand. Clean
stripper with a soft brush or use a mild cleaner.
