Item description
COLOUR SCHEME
by Ngaio Marsh
Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1943
First U.S. edition, first printing.
Ownership signature and date to the upper front pastedown, else near fine in brown cloth, titles stamped in red; in a worn, price-clipped dust jacket with chipping to the crown of the spine, and tears and creases to the shelf edges.
"This tale recounts espionage in the N.E. of 'New Zillund' (as the natives call it), and it treats scenery and people in N.M.'s most loving fashion. The incompetent family and the temperamental actor are both here, but not objectionable, thanks to a sharp-eyed and humorous young hero and the author's relish for satire. Roderick Alleyn appears two-thirds of the way through."--Barzun Taylor.
In 1948 Ngaio Marsh was awarded an O.B.E. for services in connection to her services in drama and literature in New Zealand.
