Item description
SUE COMES HOME
by Jeanne Bowman
New York: Gramercy Publishing Company, (1945).
First edition, first printing.
SIGNED and inscribed to author Bill Pratt, "who burst's into my print on page 101, Jeanne Bowman, Walnut Creek, '45".
Pratt is indeed mentioned on page 101!
Captain Sue Brown, who married a British Aviator and received a message that her husband was missing in action and presumed dead, is now out of the service and headed home to care for her child. She must now make choices about raising the child alone.
This World War II romance series began with SERGEANT SUE, and continued with AN OFFICE AND A LADY, and then FIRST OFFICER SUE.
Slight wear to upper spine edge, else very good plus in cream linen with burnt-orange titles to the spine; in a very good dust jacket with rub-wear and narrow chipping to flap folds; nicks and shelf-edge-wear to spine ends, a few short edge tears, very shallow chipping to upper edge of inner flaps; original $2.00 price still intact to the front inner flap.
A nice copy!
