Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy candid photograph taken during a break in the filming of the classic 1940's musical biopic, SHINE ON HARVEST MOON, released in 1944 by Warner Bros. and directed by David Butler. This musical biopic is about the lives of early 20th century Broadway stars Nora Bayes and Jack Norworth. The cast includes Ann Sheridan, Dennis Morgan, Jack Carson, Irene Manning, S.Z. Sakall, Marie Wilson, Robert Shayne, Bob Murphy, and The Four Step Brothers. The image features a great candid shot inside one of the soundstage on the Warner Bros. lot and depicts the film's co-stars, Ann Sheridan (resting between takes) and Dennis Morgan, wearing beautiful period costumes as various crew members are seen in the background. It is in very fine- condition with two very small creases on the top left and bottom right corners. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the image quality is very sharp with fine detail and beautiful contrast. The final "Harvest Moon" number was shot in Technicolor while the rest of the film was black/white. This was because of shortages of material needed for color stock due to the war and studios used their limited color stock for their top films. 16mm television prints were in B W and the Technicolor sequence was not restored until the 1980's.
