Returns accepted for 90 days. Buyer pays all shipping expenses in both directions.
If the returned item is a geiger counter, then it must be in the same working condition as when received. The fragile PROBE can be damaged by thin air at high altitude in a plane, so return shipping must be GROUND ONLY.

Natural Uranium Rock
CARNOTITE
Weight: 22.5 oz (big, heavy!)
Radioactivity: 59,200. CPM (counts-per-minute)
This rock, and many others, were collected
during July 2025, when I was accompanied
in the field by a rockhounding enthusiast from
west Texas.
CARNOTITE is a special variation of uranium
mineral, because it has been known during the
past century that some carnotite rocks also
contain a recoverable portion of RADIUM,
which can be up to three million times more
radioactive than uranium itself. Radium glows
in darkness, and from the 1920s until the
1970s, a radium-based liquid paint, UNDARK,
was applied to numerals on wristwatch to make
them glow-in-the-dark. Women employees at
the American Radium Co. painted the watch
dials, and were encouraged by their employer
to lick the end of the paintbrush to keep the
tip tightly pointed; they ingested small but
toxic amounts of the radium substance, harming
their health. From this, their lawyer won for
them the first-ever class-action lawsuit for
their personal injury. These events are shown
in a recent Hollwood movie, RADIUM GIRLS.
This rock has some easily seen patterns of
yellow-orange coloration, which is the natural
color of uranium oxide, U3-O8 . This
colored substance on uranium rocks is widely
known as: YELLOWCAKE.
The 300 small uranium mines at Uravan
Colorado on Hwy 141, are known to have rocks
that mix Carnotite with radium. NO radium
has been found with carnotite at Jurassic
Canyon, near Grants NM.
SHIPPING will be via the USPS Post Office's
"ground advantage," which includes $100.00
of delivery insurance in case of loss during
mailing. However, NOTE that no insurance
payment will be made if postal records show
that the parcel was left at the addressee's
doorstep, which suggests that the package had
been stolen by "porch pirates" after being
delivered. If you will temporarily be away
from home when delivery is expected, then
ask a friend or nearby relative to collect the
package on your behalf.
