Little trivia for you from a mystery novel reader: this quote was made by Agatha Christie, whose second husband was an archaeologist. Sir Max Edgar Lucien Mallowan, CBE (6 May 1904 – 19 August 1978) was a prominent British archaeologist, specialising in ancient Middle Eastern history. He was the second husband of Dame Agatha Christie. And this was what he said. Makes us all wish we could have been married to an archaeologist, doesn’t it! This is what he said’ AN ARCHEOLOGIST IS HE (I think there is actually a letter t at the start of that word) BEST HUSBAND A WOMAN CAN HAVE.
THE OLDER SHE GETS, THE MORE INTERESTED HE IS IN HER

I have a little cartoon that was cut out of Punch magazine over 40 years ago. It shows 2 caterpillars looking up at a beautiful butterfly, and one says to the other, “I’ve always loved older women!”

There was an interesting period in Dame Christie’s life when she – just disappeared. No one actually admitted to knowing what happened to her. I think I’ll have to dig up that information and refresh my mind. If I find out, I’ll let you know.

Carolyn…they even made a movie about it, but the movie was fictional, I watched it on either Netflix or thru’ my Amazon TV acct.,I’m not sure which one…here’s a bit about this Fictional Movie about Agatha’s 11 missing days, here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agatha_and_the_Truth_of_Murder

I know I have one saved in my ’’Amazon’s Watchlist’’ in my Amazon acct., called, simply ’’Agatha’’ – another movie made in the late 70’s if my memory serves me right, I know it was with Vanessa Redgrave and Dustin Hoffman, as of yet, I have not watched it.

I know (by memory) the Agatha ran off for 11 days. In the beginning search for her all they found was her car, it was NOT in an accident, it was obviously, just abandoned.
Here’s what is bizzarre…when they found her, she was using the name of her husband’s mistress (I can’t remember the name) in a town with a famous spa (I cannot recall the town’s name either) i also know it was SHE who divorced her 1st husband, a couple of years after this incident, but enough of the juicy stuff, LOLOL!

Copy/Pasted this. . .Bette’s phrase which as Carolyn pointed out is an Agatha Christie quote. . .

Here’s this Week’s Phrase…It’s an Agatha Christie quote and shows her humor:
AN ARCHEOLOGIST IS THE BEST HUSBAND A WOMAN CAN HAVE. THE OLDER SHE GETS, THE MORE INTERESTED HE IS IN HER.
A7, B2, C2, D3, E15, G2, H9, I5, L2, M2, N6, O5,
R5, S8, T8, U, V, W
Bette SHOWS “T8” so I was pretty sure the T got dropped accidentally in the first ’’THE"

Found this cute ‘’Funny!’’ . . .all my animals did similar things while sleeping, hope you smile or laugh!

I actually just ordered a copy of one of the books about what happened. Quite honestly, nobody really knows a lot about it, except Aggie herself – and she wasn’t talking!

Great plot for a mystery, isn’t it?

I spent the weekend weeding a client’s garden since they are on holiday. Total of 11 hours.

Hot and muggy and I have a client that wants cleaning and the gardening done by the weekend before her party. @#!# # !!!!

I was hoping that I would be able to get things done at the house. I still haven’t made it to the big garden, replace the basement window frames and clean the garage, let alone trying to get more items to list. This morning I saw on the backside of the garage a hole going into the garage. It has to be a wood chuck. Covered the hole with lots of dish soap and hopefully he won’t dig there and get soapy. Time will tell.

Good morning/afternoon! That is interesting Carolyn, I think mostly everyone would like to disappear for a few day at one time or another.
Those butterflies better watch out, Bette!
Cute kitty gif, Dee!
Last week was our town celebration. Saturday was the busiest day with our fire dept providing first aid for the race, water for a giant water slide (a big sheet of plastic down a slope) and tug of war mud pit,and fire suppression for the fireworks in the evening. The best view in the house for the fireworks!

About disappearing, Charlotte – actually, I did once.

About 53 years ago. I was pregnant with our first born. Husband’s brother had died. “Grieving” widow came to visit, unannounced with all her children.

That was okay.

She was critical of everything. Commented very nastily that, when she served salad, she always cut up the radishes. I remarked that they were tiny cherry tomatoes.

Then she dragged out pictures from the funeral showing us how beautiful she looked and actually commenting on that fact.

On and on and on.

Finally, I walked out of the room; everybody thought I was going to the bathroom.

I actually went into the pantry in the kitchen and sat in the dark on the floor. For hours. Nobody seemed to even notice I was gone.

They were staying with mother-in-law, and finally left.

Don opened the pantry door and said, “You can come out, now!”

We never discussed it.

But, yes, I can understand the need to get away from it all……..

Hot, Hot, Hot
Muggy, Humid and UCK!
And there are more days like this.
Thank goodness that there was a lot of wind yesterday and I quick mowed the lawn before more heat to come.

There is something going on in my yard.
I think it’s a hook up meeting place for the monarch butterflies. It’s funny how many of them have been coming in my yard this year.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.I am pleased with yet another fun phrase and yet another chance to exercise with friends at WFC. I only recently read a detailed report on Agatha Christie’s life. Interesting woman. I, too, really enjoy her writings. also like the caterpillar/butterfly cartoon AND Cher quote

Yesterday was a funeral for one of Bob’s younger cousins who died o Lou Gehrig’s disease. So sad.
Today I’m trying to jump through hoops with medicare trying to get a prescription paid for that for over 20 years they have paid for with no problem. This month “problem” Times they be a changin’.
Off now to continue my Tuesday. Shows we may be getting some much needed rain.
Looking forward to a rainy day.

Joyce, I am finding more and more frequently, that insurance companies, including Medicare, change their coverage rules.

3 of my long-standing prescriptions, all for life threatening problems, are no longer covered.

Sometimes, I wonder if the “New Health Insurance” plans figure the only way they can maximize stock holders profits is to simply let those of us who are sick just plain die – sure cuts what they have to pay out.

Call me cynical.

I know what you mean, Carolyn.
Looks like my prescription is still covered but Dr needs to verify I still need it even tho I have the ongoing prescription. Crazy Medicare!

Well, I did it again.
I started exercising and my list included all words ending with “ing”. Then the Wednesdayu deadline came and I hadn’t made my 500 goal AND I missed the 8:00 deadline by a few hours. Guess I’ll corral my energy with the next game phrase.

See you tomorrow.

We’re kind of hunkering down for the next three days of temperatures in the mid to upper 90 degree mark.

As long as we don’t have a “brown out” due to over-use of power, I hope to be listing a lot of items here, now that my new modem is up and running…..or at least hobbling along.

You would think – amend that -I would have thought – it was just a case of dropping in the new modem, making a couple of easy adjustments, and all would be well.

Not so. They had to actually rewire the entire building. Don’t ask me why; I don’t know. Just one more learning curve for me.

Today, I took over 200 pictures, and listed a lot of stuff on the Bay to take advantage of free listing days.

14 of the listings each took 12 pictures – what was I thinking about! At any rate, each of them has already gotten bids, so that’s good. And – more good news – I’m getting rid of a lot of beads! Yea!

Got a lot of pictures done for Bonanza, too – over 60 – and most of them are already written, essentially good to go tomorrow.

Michael should be here Saturday to take photographs of vintage china and glass (they just don’t fit in a scanner! Also, some colors – like Alexandrite which changes color under day light vs/incandescent light – are a real problem unless you do both, because they change color so dramatically, some from lavender to blue; others actually from red to green!

By the way, the woman who complained that the beads she bought from me were “too red” (this is not the woman who said the “Screaming Orange” beads were too bright) – sent them back. They were, as described and pictured in the listing as “peach” , which clearly were not “too red.”

I refunded money to both of them – too hot to argue that they really hadn’t paid attention to the pictures or the descriptions.

Stay as cool as you can.

Charlotte, I hope you don’t have to do any firefighting in that suffocating safety gear! As the nuns used to say to us when we complained about it being too hot, “offer it up” for sins you might be considering committing…..
