they removed my knives and told me pocket knives and swords and such are not allowed, yet one simple search for sword and there are thousands of listings, brought that up with the bonanza person who removed them and now the messages talking about it disappeared, seems bonanza is same as ebay, big guy or whoever complains to remove their competition then they lie and say they arent allowed when there are thousands on their site, who can i talk too in this company that will take some action? no phone number like ebay has to call, so can anyone answer this? simple search to see what i am talking about as there are thousands of pocket knives also.

It might entirely depend on the person reviewing the items. It does appear that pocket knives are on the Prohibited List.

no, guess those are fine, out of 300 though, all are on ebay with no problems, funny how even ebay allows them but supposedly bonanza doesnt, i would think it would be the other way around. but then seems they allow them for certain sellers possibly as they can easily do ma search in 2 seconds and i said this much to the bonanza rep, but apparently they dont care, even let them know of others by booth name and they are still selling same thing i was after 4 days and no removal.

Same thing happened to me. I use to sell swords, knives, and airsoft and after 6 years of selling these items, they all of a sudden suspended my booth until I removed these items. I brought this to their attention that 1,000’s of swords and knives were still being sold on Bonanza and they told me they were working on removing all such items. That was about a year to a year and 1/2 ago. I haven’t made a sale here since I had to remove them. Swords were my top sellers.

I think a lot of this probably started when, under the Obama administration in 2009, the Switchblade Knife Act of 1958 was dusted off and amended.
“Whoever knowingly introduces, or manufactures for introduction, into interstate commerce, or transports or distributes in interstate commerce, any switchblade knife, shall be fined not more than $2,000 or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.”
“Whoever in or affecting interstate commerce, within any Territory or possession of the United States, within Indian country (as defined in section 1151 of title 18), or within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the United States (as defined in section 7 of title 18), knowingly possesses, manufactures, sells, or imports a ballistic knife shall be fined as provided in title 18, or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.”
- 15 U.S.C. §1244
From there, there are individual state laws to look up and know. My guess is, it was getting too risky legally to allow any knife sales, thereby avoiding any blow back from any of these crazy laws and regulations enacted in the past 8 years.
You can pretty much guarantee that when politicians are talking about blaming inanimate objects for crime, honest citizens and small businesses are negatively impacted by their so-called solution. This is precisely what those kind of politicians want.
