Phishing attack through fake bonanza account

Hi,
I just wanted to inform you that there are phishing attacks going on. They send messages through bonanzas messaging system so that the notification email that follows is received from a correct email address ([email protected]). The target seller with no sold items yet and claim that an item of their shop has bee bought.
Furthermore they provide a link to very professional fake site of the Austrian post where the seller is supposed to accept the payment and enter his bank credentials.

Stay safe!

I was a victim of the same kind of lookalike emails from Bonanza. They look real and they claimed I had made a sale and had to verify my credit card information. Then they said they couldn’t verify it through their link and that I had to open a sofi account with them. I tried contacting Bonanza.

As a new customer, I had just received it now and was about the enter my credit information… Luckily, I dug deeper and was also writing a customer support email at the time.

You guys should have some AI tool to remove messages that infer people to go to links or remove links all together.

As this guy looks like he is using an automated messaging feature as once i created my account at 17:35pm I got sent the phising email at 18:41. (he must have the system on automessage new buyers after 1hr).

I sent a support email now and i have an idea you can find the exact location of this person. I would of done it now but he had a live chat and deleted it once i was using profanity against him.

I am reading your email one month later. The same happened to me today, but I was a fool and thought it was real. I hope they didn’t gain access to my credit card.

To Answer Brilliantly

Remember these tips:

  • Use links to other sources to support your opinions
  • Use examples where possible
  • Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?

Should I post a comment or an answer?

You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?

Post an answer for:

  • Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question

Post a comment for:

  • "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
  • When you would like the original poster to provide more details
  • When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
