Why does my new domain that I just purchased say “this site is not secure” and what can I do about it"? Thank you.

I think you need to make your domain start with https. the ssl agreement

Sorry for the trouble @Poyye. It looks like your new domain is showing secure now. I bet it was a short lag in the security certificate being applied to your new domain. Keep us posted if you need additional assistance and congrats on your Bonanza Webstore!

I’m not sure.

I do know that sites who do not have URLs as https now rather than http without the S or even www that Google is viewing the site as not being secure (not safe). https is not just used for secure checkout anymore. This is because of Google but I think all the browsers will eventually do this.

The www does not show a padlock next to the URL but https shows the word Secure with a padlock next to the URL.

Bonanza does display pages as https, so Bonanza should be fine…

I’m not sure since I do not know all the circumstances surrounding the problem you are having, just tossing this information out your way as something to consider.

Do you only use Google Chrome. If so, try it using Internet Exploer and other browser.

Look it up in Google because I believe you can pay a yearly fee (I do not believe lifetime fee but could be wrong) to a site that can fix this for you…but I cannot remember the name of the site.

If all else fails on understanding the problem and if it is related specifically with Bonanza, contact Bonanza support.

Is it just me being a crank, or is anyone else getting REALLY tired of being forced to be a slave to google’s anti-small-business friendly whims, costs, rules, ads, etc.?

I just don’t care about their stupid “rules of engagement” anymore, but now this SSL thing has taken off and some domain registrars are requiring it on all new domains. Old domains w/o the “big switch” will fall by the wayside of what’s left of the Internet outside of facebook, amazon and the G-monster. So thanks google for yet another expense I can ill afford. They really know how to ruin a little gal/guy just trying to keep his/her head afloat… I wish they’d fall – hard.
