The package was delivered to an SF address instead of mine in Sacramento. The seller is on “vacation” and not responding. How can I get my order?

Lately the post office has been sending packages to the wrong cities, then send them back to the right city.
I have one today that was sent to wrong city.
Check your tracking and see if it says anywhere “MISSENT”. If it does
then that means the post office messed up and now is going to redirect to the correct city.
I have also had packages taking the “long way” to get to the correct designation. I had a package last week that went through 8 states before they finally got it in the direction of the correct state.

Have you recently MOVED???? did you update Paypal with your new address if so.
Sellers are supposed to ship to the PayPal Address on file at the time the label is created. Your best bet is to file a claim with Paypal unless you want to wait till the seller comes back off vacation. Total amount of info is not clear in this question but we are just the community to offer advice here and cant do anything like Bonz administration can.

I assume you know it was delivered to a SF address because that’s what the USPS tracking info is telling you? Hopefully the seller just mixed up tracking numbers and entered the wrong one when they marked your order as shipped, and your item will show up soon… Or maybe they really did send the item to the wrong place? Or was the mistake made by USPS not delivering your item to the correct address? If that’s the case, you can check with the post office. What does the tracking info show as the correct delivery location?

If you paid through pay pal & had your correct address in the ship to location pay pal will get you a refund. The tracking info has to show it was delivered to your zip code. If it shows it was delivered to a different zip code you do have pay pal protection. It’s then up to the seller to get his money back from USPS if they were at fault for the incorrect delivery. If you gave incorrect info in your pay pal payment you are out of luck~~the seller will be protected for having sent it to the address you supplied. If the recipient was honest they turned the package back over to the post office & the package will be returned to sender. Then you will have to pay shipping again to have it sent to you at your correct address.

Because you say the seller is on [URL removed] As the addressee of the shipment, I’d call the USPS @ [phone number removed]. They’ll be able to see details about the package, shipment and it’s current location (usually); things ‘tracking results’ don’t tell us. Providing the correct shipping address was used by you and the seller’s shipping label, what follows below is a likely scenario.
A recent amazon order was heading for Maine. Day before it’s delivery eta, the shipment landed in Puerto Rico. My first action was messaging the buyer, asking if they redirected the package or not. Of course, they didn’t do such. Their order finding it’s way to PR was simply a mis-sort. Because this time of year is our MOST busy, we don’t have time to babysit packages or the USPS so I did what many sellers worth their salt would do… reshipped the order.
The original shipment would find it’s way back to Maine, and to our client, two days beyond the USPS original delivery eta. The second shipment, arrived the day following that.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
