Let's chat, anything different that you have been thinking of with your booth?

I remember when I worked at Things Remembered a long time ago.

When the customer told us what he/she needed, we’d do a punchline at the end asking the customer if he/she needed a key made.

I’d have some customers tell me that I threw that part in so smooth. Having a key made was considered to be an add-on to their original purchase. You’d be surprised how many people are running around needing a key made that have not had a chance to stop and have one made.

Anyways, I’m getting there in my reasoning behind the key.

I’m pretty sure I’m planning on growing my greeting card selection. At the end of the description in my other listings, I’m gonna ask them (something like) if they are in need of a greeting card and then point them to the selection.

I figure this can “hopefully” be an add-on to their main purchase.

So what creative ideas have you been thinking of for your booth no matter how small or large?

It would be interesting to chat about it if you like. OR can you think of any other add ons?

Wow! That is a brilliant idea! I’ve been creating my own period gift tags and greeting cards for decades. I just could never find cards that fit my vision, so I just made them. I have my hands full now, but would you mind if at some point I borrow this idea? <3

Sure, that is fine Barbara.

By the way, I do like purchasing handmade greeting cards. There is one lady over on Etsy from the United Kingdom that I have bought two cards from; one for my sister and one recently for my aunt. I have no problem paying her $20 per card since they are really detailed…

and plus they are so pretty that the two people I bought them from have framed them, so that tells a lot. I’ve never bought a card for someone that got framed. I’ve been trying to think of something I can learn to make on my own. Jewelry cannot be one of them since my eyes will not allow it.

I did used to make jewelry and I was good at that. I made car view mirror jewelry where the jewelry would hang like dice, etc. People did like those…I guess that could be an add on also maybe…

I’ve been known to buy handcrafted gift cards too. :) I bought some ugly Christmas sweater cards last Christmas. :D My mom loves ugly Christmas sweaters. Shhhhh! She doesn’t think they’re ugly. LOL

I am still opening my booth, but I make & sell handmade cards! Paper Goodies is my booth name. Thanks!

Hi JanFoselli! I’ll check your booth out now. Thanks! :)

Very cute cards! :)

Ha ha! I posted that under the Pudge’s booth name. Pudge would never be interested in making his own gift tags and greeting cards. LOL The perils of having two booths in the same account.

Very true LuLu. I’m trying to think of what else could be an add on in general…Can u think of anything else?

EmpressDepot says: January 28, 2018

I’m thinking an add on would be something most everybody needs at some point….keys, a greeting card..hmmm

EmpressDepot says: January 28, 2018

Of course if a booth specializes, then I’m sure their could be an add on to what their main products are.

I will think about that, Empress. I do very much like the card idea. :) Especially since, there is a good chance that somebody buying an item from you is buying it as a gift.
