You can create a Freebie category and make sure the word is also in the title of your item. Yes, freebie is still available to select when adding an item to your inventory.

To make an item a freebie, just check the box labeled This item is a freebie in the Item price part of your item.

If you are going to use Freebies, definitely set up some freebie rules so that buyers don’t take advantage of the situation. You can create rules that require a purchase and also limit the number of freebies that a buyer can get. On the “Discounts & Coupons” tab in your Booth Settings page, you will see the following Freebie [URL removed]

Freebie policy

• No freebie policy specified.
• Users can have one freebie per item they buy.
• Users can have unlimited freebies after buying one item.
• Users can have unlimited freebies without buying an item.

Doesn’t work for me, though I have a few. When we used them more aggressively it was rarely taken advantage of by shoppers. It may depend on how you set it up. We require a purchase, but some don’t. We don’t have a “category” called Freebies and ours are distributed throughout the various categories so if a shopper is looking for specific things the might stumble across one. Since nearly all our sales are generated through Google, their use seems a little meaningless. Most people don’t type “freebies” into the search box. Not sure I would hang around people who did. :) just kidding…kinda.
