Don't put all eggs into one basket

hello!
I’m actually having a full time job to do, but after experiencing the COVID-19 I realized we can’t put all eggs in one basket. This is the reason I’m here.
Honestly I know nothing about selling online, I learned everything myself. I choose Bonanza because I think Bonanza is seller friendly one, after comparing with others.
what about you? tell us your thoughts or story

Welcome to bonanza.

I came here in 2009 with very minor experience of about 30 sales on ebay (did not like it there) so decided to set up on bonanza. It was much easier, smaller, friendly close knit group and harder (since we actually had to do our own google feeds..so I learned a lot of things very quickly). I have now downsized, keep smaller booths and this is now back up money…

You will have to learn about search optimizing your items, making sure your items are google compliant (google rules), setting up a FB business page, twitter or pinterest pages would help to promote your items..

Unlike ebay or amazon, it will be slower especially at first and if you do nothing but list, however, if you want it to work, it will take time, and work.

Here is some information that will help

thank you so much for your sharing and blessing. life is hard, all I have do is keeping learning and insisting!

Out in the world off of computers I’ve never liked putting my eggs all in one basket. If I had only one job I felt trapped…like what if something happened with that one job. I’d have to go look for another one as in a 911 (more to come on this outlook at the end of this post).

When I first started selling online, I sold on eBay. Then eBay went up on their listings being listed up for sale even with having an eBay store. In my opinion it was too much or, at least, let me just say shocking, especially if a seller had a large inventory up for sale.

So, I started looking around…came across Atomic Mall, Blujay (I think that is the name), Webstore. I did not like them. I was wasting a lot of time listing, too. Then someone on Blujay told me about Bonanza being a new site. So I came over here. I think it was in 2008. With one click, I was able to have my listings from eBay show up on Bonanza. It was a blessing. Of course. later on, I realized with all the listings that I needed to edit them and my photos were the pits lol.

About 4 years ago (?) there was a change here and it was then that I started expanding back to eBay (listing prices got better) and new to Etsy; both of which I sold on a smaller scale though. So, by doing this, I also did not put my eggs into one basket. There’s more info I could add here, but this is the gist of it.

One point to know, is that things happen. Life changes. Some booths close down on their own for awhile, some short periods. Hence, the reason sometimes for not much feedback when compared to the length of time a booth has been opened. And some just realize the direction their booth was going was not the direction they wanted, they close it down and start a new one. Or some seller’s may have had 2 booths and decide to combine them into one. Selling online is a growing process….sort of like a baby when first born. There is so much more than what meets the eye in the beginning. Then, for whatever reason it may be, Bonanza is not a good fit for the seller…such is how life is.

I moved from NC to FL in August 2019. It’s been really weird for me with the move. I’ve put my booth on vacation several times over this past year for a reason I’ve had no control over (nothing to do with Bonanza though).

I’ve now got a full-time job. I got laid off from one job from when I first moved here when Covid 19 hit. My job now is an essential job, so in my situation, because of Covid, I do have my eggs all in one basket. The good thing is that I really like my job. I’ll be putting my booth back on vacation in a few days or so again. Hopefully soon I can just keep it open.

I wish you the best in your endeavors!!!!!

You are welcome ????

I agree, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. I’m listing some of my items here that I had on Etsy because of the high fees. I just started here and it is very slow but did have 2 sales. The nice thing about Bonanza is you do not have to pay to list items. It’s hard trying to keep 2 or more shops running.
I wish you the best of luck.

Good for you! Just be sure you keep regularly monitoring the listings. It gets to be a juggling situation when items are sold from one site and not from the other, etc. You should be okay. Good luck!

I agree, that’s why I applied to different companies, so I knew exactly who I was going to work with. At least one of them. But in order to get the job you want, you have to make sure you have a good resume. You just can’t do it without it. That’s why I’m glad I found [URL removed] a way to check my resume and improve it. So I was quickly able to gain the trust of several companies at once and I already had the freedom to choose. So consider improving your resume today.
