Copy of the new fees email

Hi J.,

We’re excited to share some important updates that will help bring more shoppers to your booth and build greater trust between you and your buyers.

Smarter Ad Technology = More Traffic to Your Listings
We’re upgrading the way your products are promoted!
Until now, advertising was managed at the marketplace level. But starting soon, we’re moving to a more advanced, booth-specific ad system. This change means more targeted traffic to your listings, giving your products better visibility with the right buyers.

We believe this shift is essential for helping independent sellers like you—and Bonanza as a platform—grow together in the fast-moving world of ecommerce.

Introducing Buyer & Seller Protection

We’re also rolling out a new protection program to help build trust with first-time buyers.
At Bonanza, we want shopping to be a joy, not a risk. This program will give both sellers and buyers peace of mind, making it easier for customers to feel confident purchasing from your booth.

If you use Bonanza Payments and Bonanza Shipping, your orders will automatically qualify for Seller Protection. That means less worry about chargebacks and more focus on making sales.

Updates to Our Fee Structure
To support these improvements, we’re making the following fee changes, effective May 1, 2025

Final Value [URL removed]
Final Value Fee will increase to a minimum of 11%. No action is needed on your part—this update will be applied automatically.
For orders over $4,000 a 1.5% flat fee applies to the portion above $4,000
If you drive a sale through your own referral link (or via your refferal website), you’ll earn 100% of your final value fee back as Bonanza Ads credit.
You can see practical examples and comparisons with other marketplaces on our Bonanza Pricing help page.
Listing Fee for Larger [URL removed]
If you have more than 50 active listings, a listing fee of $0.03 per item/month will apply to the listings above that count
The maximum you can be charged is $20/month. If you hit the $20 listing fee cap in a given month, you’ll receive a $5 Bonanza Ads credit—our way of saying thanks for keeping your booth thriving!
If you have close to 716 listings or more, we highly recommend exploring our Gold Membership—for $25/month, you [URL removed]

Transaction Fee Waived
And much more
Even with these updates, Bonanza remains one of the most affordable online marketplaces for sellers. To put it in perspective, here’s how our fees compare to other [URL removed]

The 3 cents/mo over 50 listings kills it for me.

Very vague here I think. I’m wondering what “ad system” they are referring to and where is the “traffic” they are referring to going to be coming from.

“If you use Bonanza Payments and Bonanza Shipping, your orders will automatically qualify for Seller Protection. That means less worry about chargebacks and more focus on making sales.”

I wonder what they mean about “Bonanza Payments.”

“Final Value Fee will increase to a minimum of 11%. No action is needed on your part—this update will be applied automatically.
For orders over $4,000 a 1.5% flat fee applies to the portion above $4,000”

The way I am interpreting this is that the new benchmark of 11 percent will be replacing the 3.5 percent and 9 percent and not in addition to these percentages.

In my opinion they did not address Google Shopping and why the decline and the “ad system” and “traffic” have nothing to do with Google Shopping. I’m thinking he does not like the money it takes to get people in from Google shopping. Obviously we need it!! He should pay special attention to Amazon. At first Amazon did not utilize Google shopping when GS quit being free. Now they use it as large as Amazon may be.

Personally, the 0.3 cents does not bother me because it caps out at $20 but where it will become a problem is if there is no increase in sales from these steps they are wanting to take.

So this is my take on it.

I myself have never seen this email either?? I understand the reasoning behind fee upgrades due to costs and such, and I get it, Bonanza is a business and must make a profit to stay as such. These ones seem a bit much though, even though the listing fee one makes sense as 99% of sellers here I am sure only use the free booth which means Bonanza loses all that membership money, so, to get people to utilize their memberships they impose a fee which makes it seem more ‘cost effective’ to have said membership which benefits them (and maybe us depending on the seller). However, giving only 2 weeks to make said decision seems a bit quick as well. Also, you would think this would be on their blog page?? This is quite a huge change to just spring on people. This one will definitely cause problems fo the site.

that’s why i was questioning it in the other forum posts, because apparently only ‘certain members’ received it… ( but i got downvoted numerous times for even suggesting that concept).. but yes, also confirmed it is legit via Bonanza Customer Support 2 hours ago with screenshots… weird huh…..

Thanks for responding. Odd that some of sellers didn’t get the email! I appreciate learning what is going on here.

I got the e-mail. Maybe older users are getting it. I honestly don’t get the limit because e-bay gave you promos for more if you are a long-time user. The promo became permanent as people kept it at 50 until promos came. If they want to be comparable to ebay, they should give same service

I could not edit my comment so I will start over. I have been with Bonanza from the beginning, Now 2500+ listings with a Gold Memembership. If I am going to have too pay a Listing Fees of any amount I am Gone. This internet selling certainly is not my livelihood, But it is a good activity at this time. Bonanza don’t yourself a has been.

Father time, don’t forget it caps out at $20, so you will not pay any listing fees over 20 no matter how many listings you have for sale. You’ve been here a long time and have put a lot of effort into 2,500 plus listings. Give it a long thought before you leave :)

Then again customer service has went to you know what.

even if it caps at 20.00 I havent made 20 cents on here lol nope deleted all my listings!!!
