Why am i not selling anything?

I linked my eBay account and started a booth on 6/20/17 and I have done about everything I can think of to promote my listings (like Face Book) but I haven’t sold a single item. I am on the Standard bracket for 9% for Google advertising.

Can anyone look at my listings and give me any advice of what I’m doing wrong. I know I can’t expect sales like eBay but I sell approx 75 items a week on eBay and I would think I should be able to sell at least 5 to 10 items a week on here.

Sorry, this looks like I wrote a book but it is not as bad as it looks and I think you will find that it is worth the read.

It is worth noting to be careful when having the same items listed on eBay also listed on Bonanza.

The only reason I say this is because eBay periodically will advertise your listings in Google shopping. So, when you import the same listings here on Bonanza and if you set your listings to be added to Google shopping on Bonanza, then that means duplicate listings will be showing in Google shopping.

Google shopping does not allow duplicate listings by the same person/seller. I know of some people whose Google feed was suspended because of this. It can be very hard to get Google shopping to start accepting a feed again.

There are two things you can do to avoid duplicate listings in Google [URL removed]

*One is to not have your Bonanza listings show up in Google shopping at all.

*The other is to have some different listings on Bonanza that are not up for sale on eBay and then you can hand select under batch edit which listings you do not want to go to Google shopping and which ones you do not.

I’m putting this out there because it is important to know. Google shopping is one of the number one ways of getting sales on Bonanza. So give all of this some thought.

Something different from above.

When you feel you’ve got your best foot put forward with your listings on Bonanza, look into doing a turbo pack. It costs $25 (I know it sounds like a lot) but you will get very good traffic from it….but you have to have the foundation set up right to begin with….meaning having good SEO, reasonable prices and of course it does not hurt to have really good photos, which I think your photos are great. I do not know much about your types of items, so I do not know when it comes to the price.

About eBay versus Bonanza or any other site really.

It is not a bad thing to have other outlets. There is a whole other world outside of eBay. Yes, it is a learning curve when the customers are not in abundance on sites outside of eBay. But take your time to learn, ask specific questions within the community, join forums off of Bonanza that talk about things like SEO, etc. It is not a good idea to keep anyone’s eggs all in one basket.

There is a site called www.esellerscafe.boards.net. There is some really good info on there. The sellers that are there sell on different sites including Bonanza and some have their own website. It is a positive atmosphere there . Its slogan is “sellers helping sellers.” Sometimes it is slow on there. If you have a question though, there will be someone who can help.

About what you could be doing better on Bonanza.

Take this listing here for [URL removed] https://www.bonanza.com/listings/Triad-Part-No-TRI-750-06-DS-Industrial-6-Butterfly-Valve-CF8M/[phone number removed]
Google shopping does not want fluff at the beginning of the description, which is information on whether a product is new, what the shipping is and the condition. It wants keywords in the first 250 spaces (that’s what it should be, somewhere right around there).

Here is a site that has something similar up for sale and you can see how they found a way to have plenty of keywords up top in their [URL removed] [URL removed]

And then you have to get your listings ready so that when shoppers are viewing your listings, the wording makes perfect sense to them on Bonanza rather than making perfect sense if someone were on eBay.

For example, on the above link I referenced earlier I read [URL removed]
“If you want to purchase more then 1 Lot we will do combined shipping (whenever possible). You will have to hit the buy it now button but do not pay for them until I have sent you an invoice with the correct amount. If you pay before you receive the invoice I WILL NOT Reimburse the difference. If you have issues please contact me through messaging at the bottom.”

In all fairness, how is the shopper supposed to understand the above text when it does not make sense with the Bonanza site.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks so much for your input/help. That helps understanding Google SEO better. The reason the listings don’t really match Bonanza is because I pulled all my eBay listings over. It will take a long time to get this all corrected.

Right, I understand why your listings do not match up with the Bonanza site :) It is slow on Bonanza to begin with, so I think you’re expectations on how much you want to sell here are more than reasonable once you get everything into shape.

About the text in your listings, under batch edit look for the word text near the upper left side of the page. You could do some text editing in bulk. However, once there was a glitch for me and I was not able to do a text edit I wanted to. The other times it worked fine.

One thing that immediately comes to my mind is that you have a lot of special characters in your titles which Google does not allow (no dashes, inch symbol, etc) 9% advertising should get you some decent exposure but until your titles are fixed any upgrade in advertising is a moot point. I would agree that Turbo Traffic is a great way to get extra exposure but again- if Google doesn’t recognize your listings it doesn’t matter how much you spend. Check Bonanza’s listing checklist and once you meet those items (or at least some of them)you should start seeing some results. Good luck to you and happy selling!

I’m not sure what you mean by special characters? Can you explain? I put model numbers in the titles. I don’t know if this is what your talking about but my Google Advance Diagnostics says I have 6 items out of almost 900 items that are disapproved by Google.

primeassetresale says: August 01, 2017

That was supposed to say Only 6 items out of 900.

achobbies says: August 01, 2017

Special characters are – / " # ?,etc. These are a few of the ones I saw in your titles. Instead of using " use the word inches,# NO. for number.Instead of using – Put a space between the [URL removed] 7 9805 23.

Thank you for asking how you can improve sales. One thing I spotted is that your prices on Bonanza are much higher than your eBay store (at face value).

This item, [URL removed] shows on Bonanza for $ 17.49 with free shipping. The same item shows in your store on eBay for $ 9.99 + shipping cost. Out the door, they are the same price but when a shopper is comparing the two in Google they will likely gravitate to the one with the cheaper price.

Additionally, Bonanza is much cheaper than eBay. So why not adjust the prices of your items on Bonanza to reflect those savings? Then you can drive search engine traffic to Bonanza instead of eBay, where you are paying higher fees. Hope that helps!

I have bonanza discount the price when it’s imported over so actually the item you listed is $18.14 on eBay and $17.49 on here but I do see your point about seeing the lower price. But yes as a whole all my items are discounted on Bonanza from eBay.

ArtistsUnion says: August 03, 2017

You can also consider the factor that on Bonanza You don’t pay fees for shipping costs up to $10 – https://www.bonanza.com/site_help/fees_and_payments/pricing

Hello Steve,

I checked out your booth. You need to import your feedback from ebay to Bonanza. Have over 1000 items to sell. Set your advertising rate to 19%. If that does not help try turbobooster for 30 days by purchasing 2 slots. Also use Number #1 Promoter Marsha From(My Texas Treasures), Trina From(Rodentsplace) & Pam From (Paceset9999) which promote on Bonanza and are the best promoters on Bonanza. If still slow move advertising rate to 30% until you get your sales momentum going then back down to 19%. I hope this information will be helpful.

I did import all my Feedback, I have almost 5000. It’s right on my booth. If I have to pay those kind of percentages then I might as well stay with eBay.
