Particularly suitable for nourishing the skin because of its high content of A, B & E vitamins. Vitamin E is one of the most powerful natural antioxidants and helps to combat free radicals.

Extracted from the soft fleshy centre of the apricot stone, this oil is an excellent moisturiser and carrier base. The high content of oleic acid gives apricot great affinity with the skin, which means that it is easily absorbed, making it an excellent moisturiser and carrier oil.

Apricot kernel oil is excellent for skin protection, since it is both emollient and nourishing. It is beneficial in relieving the itchiness caused by eczema and is most suitable for sensitive skin, dry and aging skins.

The apricot tree is the member of the rose family originating from Central and East Asia. The fruit, rich in vitamins is used to produce the pleasant smelling Apricot Kernel Oil. Apricot Kernel Oil is very mild natural oil, often used in baby products because of its fine gentle nature.

Apricot kernel oil is cold pressed and refined from the dried kernels of the apricot fruit. It is light in colour with pleasant nutty odour

Apricot oil is excellent for Massage oil
it is used in place of or an alternative to Sweet Almond oil.
It has a easy glide and absorbs into the skin quite nicely.
I say alternative to almond oil as almond oil is a Nut oil, and there are many folks that have allergic reactions to nuts.

works well in making soaps, lotions,

and scrubs. for every scrub I make,
I make both ways, one with Almond oil and 1 with apricot.

Apricot oil should be kept out of sunlight and usually
has a shelf life of 1 year.

Hope this helps~

Common Name – Apricot Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil
Botanical Name – Prunus armeniaca
Country of Origin – USA
Parts Used – Kernel
Extraction – Expressed
Apricot Kernel Oil Prunus armeniaca the center of diversity of the apricot is northeastern China near the Russian border (in the Great Wall area) not Armenia as the botanical name suggests. From there it spread west throughout central Asia. Cultivation in China dates back 3000 yrs, and then movement to Armenia, then the movement to Europe from there, was slow; the Romans introduced apricots to Europe in 70-60 BC through Greece and Italy. Apricots probably moved to the US through English settlers on the East Coast, and Spanish Missionaries in California. Today, apricots are grown almost exclusively in California and Southern Europe. The tree is a small to medium sized tree with a spreading, dense canopy; generally kept to less than 3.5 m in cultivation. The finely textured carrier oil is easily absorbed by the skin without leaving it feeling oily and is high in poly-unsaturated fatty acids, it has a faint pleasant nutty aroma. This is a light textured, nourishing oil with a high vitamin A content. It is useful for all skin types, especially dry, mature or sensitive skin. It is best kept under refrigeration as it has a shelf life of approximately six to twelve months.
Cautions – This oil can be used in any cosmetic product as an active principle ingredient or as a carrier in the oily phase, without any proportion limit. Good oil for face and body .
