What are the ramifications if you don't provide a telephone number in the seller settings basic info section?

I just noticed in the most recent blog that having a phone number in the seller settings basic info section authorizes Bonanza to give out your phone number. I thought the phone number was for Bonanza only, not for them to give out to buyers. So what happens if you don’t provide a phone number? It seems a little odd since there is no phone number for sellers to reach Bonanza.

I had my number in the seller settings section because I thought Bonanza only needed it. There is nothing anywhere that says I was authorizing them to give it out until I read the current blog.

The reason I have never given Bonanza(or any other selling venue) my phone number, is that I don’t trust any of them!

I never add a phone# where it is not required. If the Bonanza page saved without one, I kept it that way. I don’t like to be bothered on the phone, by anyone. :) Prefer all communication to be online.

There are three locations to enter your phone number.

1. On your Account Info page, where only Bonanza can see it. They can use that to contact you.
2. On the page (Seller Settings) mentioned in the blog. There, you have to verify the number and by doing so, you authorize Bonanza to give the number to buyers. It is optional that you enter that number.
3. On your profile page where it is publicly displayed.
