This new seller from canada is confused about default currency and shipping?

I “imported” my listings from my eBay-Canada store and my Bonanza prices are not what I had in eBay. No big deal. I can edit my listings one item at a time. But when I did, I didn’t realize that I was editing in US$ even if my default currency (at the bottom of the page) is in Canadian dollars. Say an item I sell should be priced CDN$100.00. If I enter $100 as my price in “edit item”, it shows up in my booth at $130. I’m thinking there’s a setting I need to make CDN$ as my defaul in both editing and displaying my price but I can’t find it anywhere.

Also, I’d like to offer free shipping within Canada but the only choice is free shipping to the US. Additionally, my only choices for shipping mode are USPS delivery standards. Is there a way to set defaults for these as well using Canada Post standards?

I know these are newbie questions and would very much appreciate the advise of experts in Bonanza!

Thanks.

hi Vitals!!!

to answer your questions…..

1) i’ll deal with the easier question first on shipping. When you are listing an item…. i offer free shipping, I don’t fill in the price….. but if you are willing to ship other than to canada, you will be paying heavy shipping costs. i use the standard shipping drop down menu. but there is no default for canada post! ugg !#$#

2) harder question. the default is usd. you can change the currency and your location by clicking on the blue currency label at the bottom of the page. i’ve found it’s easier to stay in usd …and it converts currencies on my webstore. fyi I’m in a bordertown… so i’m getting business from both sides of the border…. if your targeting canadians…only, change the currency to cad and your location to canada. that should solve your issue.
hope it helps!!!

Thanks Jida111. The free shipping part works. I’ll just have to figure out what to charge for shipping to the US. As to currency, I agree it’s easier to stay in USD. I’ll probably stick to that as my default and just do conversions when I post. Thanks for the reply!

This site should actually do something about making this place international buyer friendly for shipping, if they are accepting international buyers. Which they are.

Need a BONANZA.CA with the Canadian site [URL removed]
1) to Canadan Domestic Shipping
2) Plus international shipping from canada
3) Make it as seamless as Feebay to be an international seller
4) currency showing in viewers location OR viewer chosen
5) there are a lot of CDN/US cross border sellers that could use more bells and whistles.
