Stripe warning

I disconnected my stripe account since stripe is now charging a $15.00 fee to dispute a chargeback on top of the $15.00 fee they charge when a buyer makes a chargeback.
What is really bad is the scams of these buyers making chargebacks. Not only is the seller losing the product, the shipping cost, the money from the sale, and the selling fees but also another $30.00 off the top. This is like Stripe is saying “ok, the buyer is stealing so we might as well steal too”! I mean really . . . the theft is not enough now Stripe adds to it! Like they do not make enough money in fees off of our sales! No, no more stripe! Just a warning to those that are using stripe. You never know when you will be a target for a scammer.

I had one recent sale for $384.00 for 8 bottles of a hair product. On the listing a photo was shown of the new packaging and a photo was shown of the old packaging, then a picture of the old and new packaging together. She gets the 8 bottles of product and then files a charge back saying she wanted the old bottle (even though it is the same product and of course she did not want to return the product). The photos clearly showed the item was in the new packaging. Of course a credit card company always decides in favor of the buyer. Does not matter what proof the seller provides, the CC decides for the buyer 99.999% of the time and of course the buyer is not required to return the product getting a refund and the product! What is wrong with this picture?? So now we have the product lost, the payment lost, the shipping cost lost, the $49.92 Bonanza selling fee lost (Bonanza does not refund the selling fee.) and now charged an additional 30.00 by Stripe! So this $384 theft is now 475.92! This is ridiculous! No, no more Stripe! Stripes fraud protection does not work, nor does the buyer verification on Bonanza as it never completes.

I rarely get paid for anything through Stripe anymore. Several years ago I had an order for about $500 paid through stripe, it was shown as delivered. I had signature confirmation also which showed a different name, and it was left at the “office” of the apartments.
Stripe sided with the buyer. Fortunately I had insurance on the package and got my money back. That’s about the only way I’d ship anything expensive with Stripe now is if it is insured.
Paypal really is better for seller protection. Hasn’t always been the case but now it is.
