Hi, I sold a Laserdisc. I work nights, told him I would mail it on my way home from work.
I get home, email him and told him it had been mailed and provide tracking #. Right before I go in to go to bed (I work nights), I check my email for any sold items.
The man who bought my Laserdisc, sends me a email telling me that he thought this was a DVD and he wanted to return it. It was just mailed.
This is how I handled it, right or wrong, your thoughts.
I use the tracking # and see it has not been scanned yet, then I go to Paypal and cancel label. Hoping they will scan it and find that the label is not any good and return it to me.
I email buyer and tell him it had been mailed, but I would return his money. I do not want a unhappy buyer.
What are my chances I will get the Laserdisc back before the buyer, (who has already got his money back) will receive it, with postage due.
Any input? Please give me your thoughts on how I handled this.
Thanks inadvance. Deborah

Email the buyer and tell him that once the package arrives, to not accept delivery and return to sender…that way postage will not have to be paid to return it…
Voiding a label will not work, PO holds “request for refunds’(voided label) for 2 weeks to see if the label has been scanned, once scanned, the ’request” or the voided label is denied….I am assuming that you requested a refund when you voided the label

Labels are eligible for refunds [URL removed]
A barcode scan event does not show up in our system
A refund has not been previously requested or processed for the label
Once scanned you will be charged..however, you could have, depending on how long it was mailed, gone to the post office and asked for a recall on the package…that can work if it had not made to the sorting center

It would have been better if you had let the PO attempt to deliver it and had told buyer to refuse shipment. Then refund the buyer after the laserdisc player is returned to you. Maybe you can still contact buyer and have him refuse IF the PO still tries to deliver it.
Good luck.
