Shipping fee assessments

I sell on 3 platforms as well as my own independent website (not speaking of the Bonanza webstore, I also have a regular webstore besides the Bonanza webstore). I used shippingeasy.com as they automatically pulled all orders from all the platforms I sell on and combined them into one place to buy and print postage. They also have really good prices and their package insurance was exceptional (USPS will always find a way not to pay for damaged or lost items). I find it is more expensive to ship from Bonanza than it was on shipping easy.
From what I can tell (they really make it difficult) a 2.00 charge is automatically made to your account when a sales is made. What I don’t understand is why some orders have the 2.00 charge credited when you buy the shipping but others do not have it credited. It looks like maybe half are getting the 2.00 credited back on the shipping assessment? Can anyone explain how this is working? As I said I am not understanding it?

This is an official Bonanza response.

Hello,

Thanks for your question about when shipping assessment fees are charged. When an order is marked as shipped and does not have a shipping label purchased through Bonanza or an approved partner, the assessment fee is added to the bill within 24 hours. If the order is not marked as shipped and no label is purchased through Bonanza or an approved partner, the $2 assessment will be added to the bill on the first of the following month. If the order is not marked as shipped and no label is purchased through Bonanza or an approved partner, the $2 assessment will be added to the bill on the first of the following month. Note that if you purchase a label for the order after your monthly bill has been paid, the charged assessment will be added to your shipping fund for future label purchases. If you refund an order and your fee refund request is granted, any assessment fee that may have been charged will be removed or refunded.

If you have any concerns about a specific charge, please contact [email protected]

the 2 dollar charge is strong arm tactics forcing us to use the shipping here – I am a long time member and have always used Paypal Shipstation – forcing me to change is not right

Easy just add a shipping fee for everything on this site. Then whether they charge you or not, you won’t have to worry about it. I haven’t raised any of my prices anywhere, but everything here has a $3 shipping fee now. The more popular stuff I sell it is made very clear this is because of Bonanza policies.

I am doing the same thing. I don’t know if anyone will pay me new inflated shipping fees, but it’s the only way to avoid being forced to buy too-expensive shipping. Let’s face it, if Bonanza’s shipping was actually cheaper, we’d all leap at the chance to use it without being blackmailed.
