Please explain account membership levels?

Hello-
I am a new seller here. I had read that it is free to list to items on Bonanza but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. After signing up I had to choose a membership level and the least expensive option is the Silver plan at $10/month which doesn’t provide Google advertising?

I can understand the strategy for Bonanza to require paid membership, however it’s inconsistent with what I had understood, so I wonder if I missed something?

There is a free one month trial of silver membership, but I have also read that it takes some time to get Bonanza sales going, therefore I guess I will need to take a chance that the monthly fee is worth it.

Just found your post, and I know exactly what your talking about. I just sent off a message to (customer support) with the same issues. I didn’t ready ANYWHERE where it said the Free Booth would expire in 30 days. I feel like I have been misled, cause now I’m being told I have to open a Webstore.

$12 a month billed annually is a big chunk at once. My the month it goes up to $20 for the Silver Plan. Another big OUCH!

They don’t even let you know what you get with the Silver Plan. I would rather stay with a FREE Booth and just pay for the FVF, cause there’s no guarantee that I would sell enough to cover my expence each month.

I’ve had my booth for a month and right now I only have 12 items listed in it. That I know of, nobody is even looking at them, let alone buying anything. Did you buy into a Webstore, and if so, is it working for you?

No you do not have to have a membership…

It is an recommended offer when you sign up…but everywhere you go these days someone is trying to get you to sign up for more.

I had memberships on 2 booths for 4+ years, but have recently decided to make some changes…

Make sure your items are Search optimized, you turn on your google feed, select some level of advertising (recommend if nothing else..choose google product search as that is where most of bonanza sales come from)…

Get good keywords, strong titles, good descriptions…make sure listings are google compliant…and work on getting item links out on the web either through tweeting, facebook (use the bonz facebook app on your business page if have one) pinterst, blogs or whatever…

Build your presence for good search standings…then when you feel comfortable, or can support the membership..sign up, use the tools they offer….help your business..

Welcome to bonanza and Good Luck

Now go to My Bonanza
Click on Membership
Go to bottom of page

It says If you cancel your membership, it will not renew for the next term. which is a link…

Click on the link to cancel…you will not be charged for a membership and you will still have your booth

Oh thank you very much, this helps

CHEAPEST way to sell on Bonanza… no membership, no advertising. Under that option, you only pay 3.5% when you sell and pay NO monthly fees to list on Bonanza.

Memberships (Silver, Gold, Platinum, Titan, etc) charge you a monthly fee and give you more benefits and exposure to buyers.

Advertising is separate and you can pay a higher selling fee… 6, 9, or 13 or 16% of the transaction* but you get more advertising options (basically exposure to more search engines). The 12% options also puts your items on eBay. I won’t repeat all the details here, but you can find them on YOUR advertising [URL removed] [URL removed]

  • the first $10 of shipping charges is excluded from transaction fees. PayPal or credit card fees are separate from Bonanza fees)

Thank you, that helps clarify it, so my understanding was correct and there is a free option, I just have to find itn

I am not currently paying any fee. Just opt out of the paid memberships. Your account will still be active.
On the minus side – you get less exposure with a free account.

That makes sense, but I am not sure how to gauge the risk/reward ratio of a membership. Guess I have to experiment

So to become a “free member” you have to cancel? But then you still have your booth? Then how do you set your advertising?

Do I have to pay final value fees with membership

“After signing up I had to choose a membership level..”

Did you really HAD TO do it or there were just some options shown to you to consider?

Let’s just say I ended up in marketing funnel from which there was no obvious escape :-)

So can you take advantage of the 9% or higher advertising fee if you are a free member? When I click on advertising it looks like I have to upgrade to a membership to change from the 3.5 to the 9% or higher??

I am a free member and I have my advertising set at 13%. I didn’t need to upgrade to do that.
