I was just looking thru my PayPal account summary today and found where a Bonanza buyer (from 3/3/21) had been refunded in full on 3/16/21.
I was never notified of this by the buyer, by Bonanza nor by PayPal and of course I am pretty upset that it just slipped by without my knowledge. Had I not been doing a routine audit of my PayPal account, I would never of known!
At eBay a seller is notified when a buyer requests a refund. You are given a reason, and an opportunity to dispute it, or at least be made aware of it. Is there no system like that here?

You should have been notified by paypal of the buyer requesting refund or filing a dispute.
There would be no notification from bonanza unless the buyer notified them through the resolution center.
It would seem your buyer went straight to PP and did not go through bonanza resolution center. You may wish to call PP customer service to see what happened to your notification

This is a Paypal issue, has nothing to do with Bonanza actually. Also, if you are doing routine Paypal audits I would think you would have caught this 2 months ago making it much easier to figure out what happened. However, Paypal also does not do immediate refunds and refunds are not given unless the buyer contacts the seller and/or vice versa to try to resolve the issue first. Sounds pretty crazy to me, but, I suppose anything is possible.

I had an item I sold and the buyer wanted a refund about a month later. Pay Pal sent me a notification, and I disputed the refund due to the amount of time that went by. I won. Pay Pal usually sends an email detailing why the buyer wants a refund. Are you sure you didn’t miss an email?

I also had that problem recently with paypal by a Bonanza buyer. I sold him a brand new factory sealed item that he had shipped to someone else. He contacted me with pictures of an old used item with corroded batteries claiming this was what I sent~~my item factory sealed never came with batteries. The $$ were taken immediately from my paypal account because he did a chargeback on his credit card~~he never filed a case with either Bonanza or paypal. I supplied pics of my new item to paypal & they’re disputing it with the CC company now. It can be months before it’s settled.
At least on ebay you get notified & have the chance to dispute it & ebay offers seller protection as well as buyer protection. I have a no return policy on ebay so I have the right to deny the return if it is the fault of the buyer~~changed mind, doesn’t fit, etc.. I’ve never had to deal with a return request here so I don’t know what protections Bonanza offers either buyers or selllers.

You can’t expect much from these platforms. It’s better to check PayPal alternatives listed [URL removed] [URL removed]
