Need help with black americana item

I have listed these under paper dolls but am not sure that is what they really are. I can’t seem to find anything like them and am just hoping someone can shed some light on what these actually are and maybe even age. I believe the are wearing costume that would fit late 19th century through 1920s but am at a loss from there.

Do you think I should take the paper and back off the frame and see if I can find anything on the backs? I am not sure I want to mess with taking this apart and putting it back together.

I think these are what is called “Victorian Paper Scrap”. They were specially printed and die cut pieces meant to go in scrapbooks. Victorians were big on scrapbooks. Many have been reproduced, but they are marked as such. Those are wonderful images.

During the 1880, many manufacturers of toy lead soldiers made paper toy soldiers and paper dolls. I have some in my booth by McLoughlin toy Co.
When i google images for "Black antique paper dolls figure a few that are similar to your come up. You need to state the dimensions and compare these. I believe they are paper dolls or cutouts from cards.
Either way i think the late 1800’s is your time frame.
I would also tweet them to Oprah Winfrey, she is a big collector of this type of memorabilia as is Bill Cosby

Thank you both for your valuable input! I did have the dimensions but put these up in the wee hours and was so tired I forgot to do so with these! I will make that correction. I will also revise my description based on the information you offered and that of an email I received. I will also tweet these, I had planned to do that anyway!
