Is there a way to ship sand dollars safely?

I have several sand dollars from florida beaches. They are very fragile. Is there a way to ship them safely?

2 inches of foam peanut cushioning or bubble wrap all the way around the item is recommended for anything extra fragile. I worked 6-1/2 years at a pack and ship kind of store and learned a lot. Boss lady would have double boxed them too, she was extra cautious.

I have received all mine when purchased online sandwiched between two sponges and they all seem to always arrive perfect.

I bought some on here from whynotnow and they were packed in a bubble wrap and shipped in a small flat rate Priority Mail box. They all arrived nice and intact. Ask here, but I think each individual one was packed separately, then overwrapped with the bubble. I think they are beautiful.

SHOULD BE WRAPPED ONE AT A TIME IN BUBBLE PAPER, OR A SMALL BOX AND WRAPPED IN BUBBLE PAPER, TO MY KNOWLEDGE THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO SHIP

THEM…SISSY

I collected sand dollars that washed up on the Washington State beaches and should one break you can find the five little birds that are inside so all is not lost. I display them with one that is not broken on a
piece of driftwood.

Yep Princess, Annapple is right! I wrapped each sand dollar in a bit of bubble wrap. Then cushioned inside the box with more bubble wrap. I’ve shipped sand dollars three times in the last year and never heard that any of them arrived broken. I felt priority mail was the safest because it’s the quickest.

Yup,,,,bubblewrap is great stuff for getting your fragile goods to ship safely…wrap each one, place in box with loads of those terrible tasting peanuts that I get in my pkgs….should work like a charm!

Peanuts can be Bumpy when shipping Sand Dollars that need to lie Flat i have shipped several of them I wrapped them in Crumpled Kleenex several sheets. Then a partial sheet if tissue paper Crumpled up then Bubble wrap and shipped in a small Box 5X4x3 Lined with Bubble and all arrived Safely.Post office Can be Brutal and alot of times it is Not our Fault!!! Just mishandling of the item> Here is what I think when Packaging if you can wrap the item Hold it above your Head and Think about dropping it on the Hard Floor if you are pretty sure that it wouldnt break then you have wrapped it well. I Have had wrapped well and Items and Box were Totally Crushed and That was no fault of Mine .

Over the years I have shipped many small fragile items, some to foreign and what I do is I save the smayy vynil/plastic margerine cups and lids and then place the objects in the magierine cup, pack cotton or styrofoam beans or peanuts around them put the lid on and package the cup in a small carton and then ship. Never had an item damaged and that includes a couple of Tea Sets, and other porcelain items.

I had sold an item a while back that I took the item to the post and asked them what was safest way to pack for shipping. They replied, to fragile to ship, and not the send them. I refunded. All I could do.

Living in Fla and having sand dollars around alot while moving I have taken lightweight cardborad and placed them in the middle of 2 pieces and than wrapped with bubble wrap..they never cracked or anything!

Wrap them like any other fragile item. Bubble wrap is probably the best way to ship.
