Is anyone else seeing a big drop in views?

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a significant drop in the number of views on your items lately, especially after they rolled out the new stats page? I list similar items on Etsy (comparable photos, titles, descriptions, prices, etc.) & get a lot more hits there, even though I have about 1/2 the total number of listings. I actively use social media to promote all my listings on both sites. Per the stats, virtually all views come directly to my booth (from my social media activity, no doubt), & I get minimal activity via search within Bonanza.

I posted a comment on Bonz’s Facebook page & they gave a canned reply suggesting I upgrade my account or pay for advertising & then gave a link to tips for creating listings. Blah, blah, blah. The thing is, if Bonz is not doing enough to get buyers to the site, we all suffer.

How do you deal with this slump?

My thinking…you kind of answered your own question…

The new page is not exactly up and running correctly yet….if the only thing that is different is the “new stats” page, then I am thinking that the error in reporting stats is the issue and not the views themselves…since google analytics (at least for my pages) do not show a drop but the new stats pages do

There are 2 things that always mess up views around here and you will see the cycles of dropped views and sales everytime it happens

1) google updates (every 3-6 months google likes mess everyone’s hard earned rankings up..or at least that is the way it seems and until you catch up the new rules)

2) bonanza updates…never rely on the updates for at least 6 months until bugs are worked out (sorry bonz, but that seems to be what happens)

I think everything is DOWN here. I use to get a lot of sales but haven’t had any in ages. I often wonder if there is even anyone running this site any more as everything seems to be dragging well except for the “jokes” that are a waste of time and energy. I never relied on stats but I use to get a lot of sales and now hardly ever and I haven’t changed anything except upped the advertising class I was using and added more items. Wish I knew what happened? as this use to be such a terrific place!

To Answer Brilliantly

Remember these tips:

  • Use links to other sources to support your opinions
  • Use examples where possible
  • Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?

Should I post a comment or an answer?

You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?

Post an answer for:

  • Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question

Post a comment for:

  • "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
  • When you would like the original poster to provide more details
  • When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
