I require approval for international orders. The item offers free shipping. This would go to India. The cheapest way I can get it there is 17.00 shipping. I would like to let the buyer decide if she would like to pay the additional shipping. But, I can’t figure out how to charge more than the original listing. I have not responded to the buyer at all yet.

“I would like to let the buyer decide if she would like to pay the additional shipping.”
Are you willing to send the item for 17$ minus domestic shipping rate (since it is already calculated in the item price)?
If yes, let the Buyer know right now the exact amount you would like her/him to pay.
For sure you will be able to send the correct invoice.
PS Where do you have your shipping policy, I wanted to read it first, but I couldn’t find it in your booth.
If I may [URL removed] maybe it would be more convenient for you and your customers to have set some international shipping costs a priori and have them ready on listings. You may choose flat rate or a few for different destinations, e.g. to EU, Asia, Australia etc.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:

- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
