I opened up my shop last week and have not had the first view. I’m trying out the trial to see if it would be worth me staying and paying the $25 a month, but the way it’s going, i won’t be staying. Got any ideas or suggestions?

I am showing that you do not have any items in your booth.
The first thing is to become visible. Since it is unclear what you have already set up so far, I would suggest reading through these links already posted in the help forum

My suggestion is that you give it a lot more time, SweetGourmets. It’s wonderful that you can list here in a free booth, only pay when you sell, and keep listings up indefinitely. Unlimited images can be added, well it SEEMS to be unlimited, lol. Listings can be created on one page, categories can be created, admin does not micro-manage, there’s a community and forums (a real premium to me compared to many venues), and tokens can be received just for visiting the site daily. These accumulated tokens can be used towards the cost of fees. These are just a few things that I enjoy here.
I know you must be busy, but engage in the community when you can squeeze a little time. Spread your name around in the forums by welcoming others and commenting. Play some simple games in the Fun & Games [URL removed] [URL removed]
There’s also threads for Deals & Promotions that you can take advantage of for [URL removed] [URL removed] I haven’t even found the time to post there yet, but I will!

I agree with Sandi. Go to Deals and Promiotions under Help then Ask the Community. Join the groups. I do Tweet 4 Tweet, where you tweet items from others booths and they tweet yours. Great way to get your items out there! I also do Twitter Tweet Retweet. Same thing! There are many groups that do free promotions for others, some are very reasonable. I got TONS of promotions for two weeks in various markets from [URL removed] and that only cost me $5.00. Many others do this type of thing. But definitely go to the free stuff where we help each other out. :)

You also have to promote your own items! Selling here is a LOT different than selling on Ebay! You have to tweet your items, pin them to boards on Pinterest, connect your Twitter account to your FB page so that everything you tweet goes to FB also. On each listing you’ll find a button for sharing, which opens up to show tweet, pin, FB, etc. It’s the only way you are going to get views! It takes a lot of time and a lot of work to get people to see what you have. Also make sure your items can go to Google. Check in the Help section….there are TONS of info there for self-promoting and making your items Google friendly.

I agree with the other sellers here. You have to promote your own items if you do not want to pay for advertising. You actually don’t have to pay $25 a month here. That cost would only be for a membership plan. You can have a free booth and only pay when you sell.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
