I just got a notification that i 'sold' an item that was sold in 2010!

I had to cancel the order, of course, but how are people even seeing my long sold items??

I’ve even had it on sites rthat I closed out years before – I suspect it might have to do with items placed in Pinterest, but that’s only a guess.

This is an official Bonanza response.

Thanks for reaching out @bonflash and sorry to hear about the trouble. We see that the item you sold was imported to Bonanza from eBay in March of 2014. We checked your eBay import settings and see that you’ve indicated we should ignore items which have been sold or removed from eBay and keep them active in your Bonanza booth. This setting option means that you must manually manage your inventory on Bonanza. So, if something is sold on or is removed from eBay, you will need to manually remove it from your Bonanza booth as well. Otherwise, the listing will remain active for buyers to purchase.

You can update your sync settings so that items are automatically removed from your Bonanza booth when they are removed from eBay. Point your mouse over the “My Booth > Import from eBay” page and click the link to “Cancel or revise automatic inventory synchronizing” in the eBay sync info box. Check the option to “Remove item from Bonanza if it is no longer on eBay for any reason,” then reimport your items to save those settings.

Hope that helps!

As cshort0319 suggests above, the items exist on sites they were placed until they are deleted.
Even so, with Pinterest, for example, if you have (or had) it listed, and someone repinned it, the link will still be there even if you deleted it on your board.
i imagine that can happen on other sites as well.
Hopefully your customer is understanding and you have the opportunity to serve them with another product.

What I dont understand, is while the link will still be there on Pinterest, once you hit it, it will show the item is no longer valid or for sale….So I am curious how the person actually was able to purchase the item from bonflash’s booth if it was not an active for sale item.

I know. These types of links should lead nowhere, basically. I’ve clicked links like this and it takes me to a page that states that “Sorry, this item is no longer available,” or “Sorry, this item has been sold.”

Could it have been a glitch in the notification process from Bonz? I have received an old notification that an item sold, but the date tells me it is not a current transaction. I think when Bonz does updates it may stutter on some things from the past. Kind of like our dreams about old boy/girl friends. It seemed so real, but, thank God, it wasn’t. ;)
