I recently decided to use a new site instead of eBay. I did this because I am notallowed to sell medical supplies on eBay. How does this compare with eBay?

I left ebay in 2009..decided no matter I would make this work…and have not gone back..
I have 3 booths here..this was the first and did quite well at first, because I told my ebay customers if they wanted the items they would have to come here..I would not list on ebay anymore. I closed 2 booths for a few years due to health issues but kept the other one open. I am now slowly re-opening/listing on this one again
It is a lot of work and Yes it is slower…but the hassles are whole lot less. Bonanza allows you to set your own rules (within the limits of user agreement) and for the most part leaves you alone.
If you are expecting sales immediately like ebay or amazon for that matter, you will be dissappointed…you will have to compete with buyers who go staight to those sites, before ever doing searches for items
SEO is a must…good links, content and google (bing, yahoo) acceptance is a must..truthfully, if not willing to take a hit for a while and work very very hard to rebuild a reputation outside of ebay..it will never be what you want
To sell here you will have to have a different approach and mindset…
Good luck

I came here from Ebay, but so far havent sold 1 item, in the same time frame sold 10 items on Ebay. So my answer is Ebay is still King, I have sales there, and nothing here. I have sold on Ebay for over 15 years, wanted to try a new venture, I tried Bonanza about 4 years ago same thing no sales, I like your program, just do not see the sell thru here that I do on Ebay

I know this is not the case for everyone, but for myself internet sales are down overall.
I do not know what is going on. It started getting slower in March. I’ve never had sales die down so soon after Christmas.
Okay, but to answer your question….
Everyone is different, so it is hard to say. But based on what I’ve read and heard in the past, on average people have slower sales here BUT they can be made, just not like eBay usually.
As someone else said, the stress level is lower here. I do not find myself walking on eggshells here like I do on eBay or even Etsy (I sell on both of those).
Google shopping is really important here to get sales and personally, my listings show up pretty decent in there whereas on eBay I don’t think they rely as much on Google shopping like we do here….BUT, there seems to be a sort of different kind of clientele on Google shopping than on eBay (personal opinion) as I do have a product that does not do well on eBay while over here it does better. I think that at least says something for Bonanza.
Do not expect results fast and do learn how to please Google shopping. There are certain rules that Google shopping has, which is beyond Bonanza’s control.
We used to have a different set up of our forums here in the past and new sellers would learn pretty quickly how to manage Google shopping. I worry sometimes without the older forums that new sellers now may not know all the information that they need to know when it comes to Google shopping. So, I cannot stress enough (if you are learning GS), to start a brand new thread here in the forums asking questions about Google shopping. This is my biggest pointer.
Welcome to Bonanza.

I also started here selling C-PAP supplies. I also sell on ebay. How does this compare to ebay? It doesn’t hold a candle to ebay. I sold a few C-PAP supplies last fall but still have some listed that haven’t sold at all. My ebay listings are also here on Bonanza. Since last fall I’ve sold a total of 5-6 items here on Bonanza. Even ebay has slowed down since X-Mas. I wouldn’t leave ebay thinking you will have the same results in sales here as you do there. I’m not crazy over ebay policies these days but it’s still where the buyers are. I’m sticking with ebay.

Bonanza also helps the seller’s become their own boss with a webstore (small fee). Does ebay do that? Ebay has a cult following lol I like to say an addiction that keeps people and scammers coming back.I will still do auctions over there. What sweeten the deal for me here is once my own WWW launches (not Bonanzas) they will link my booth with the www. Read everything that you can about this platform. No 2 platforms are alike. At least I have control over here. You can list over 70,000 items. They go directly to google and bing. You want to be seen on ebay, more money to promote.Ladies, you are sourcing some much needed items, start being your own boss and put the money where it really needs to go… Thats my story and I’m sticking to it!!

Does bonanza use PayPal? Can I print shipping labels? Is there another EBay alternative you recommend? Thanks!

I’ve been here for about a year-&-a-half and I’ve sold maybe 4 -5 items. I was booted off E-Bay due to over-refunding (I know, right?!).
I can’t remember how I learned of Bozo, as I had never heard of it prior to me selling on here. Almost no one’s heard of Bozo.
Thing is, it seems more peaceful here.
[URL removed] Lower selling fees. Bozo isn’t micro-managing. No pressure to make quota. SEEMS that Bozo doesn’t favour ‘large’ sellers (could be wrong about this)
[URL removed] No one’s heard of this site. Because of this, we must do our own ads on Pinterest, FB, and other social media (don’t forget Twitter & Tumblr, and utilize photo sites like Flickr).
Hey, I sell on E+sy & V!nted. I’m getting about the same amount of sales on those platforms. And to boot, I have to pay 20¢ per listing on E. So I’m happy about FREE listings. I’ll just keep on keeping on here.
I think the best advice I can give to anyone on any platform is to have a ‘theme’ to your store. I truly believe, with the offer of combined shipping and maybe even discounts for multi-purchases, one can get more sales if they find something they like and pretty much stick to listing those types of items.
[URL removed] I’m focusing on watches (I’m a novice repairer), lapel pins (personal fave), and will be getting into selling my cat toys and VooDoo dolls. I also recently came into a bunch of organ and piano books. SO that’s it for me. I’ll stick to these themes and though my audience may be limited, it’s more likely to sell because they’ll eventually start coming to me as one of their first vendors.
I hope I helped.
