Have you ever seen anything like this?

I believe it is a clay pot probably used to bake/cook 2 quails or something like that!

There is no marking, it measure approx.
9 in. X 9 in. X 5 inch high (when it’s close)

You are right – I have a large one for fish. Depending on the size it would be for quail or if a bit bigger, chicken.

UPDATE

Yes, they are clay bakers. I actually got my fish one second hand and it had some baked on stuff and I did clean it. It didn’t do it any harm but yours is well used and I don’t think I would attempt to try to clean the one you have. I don’t know how much I would try to sell it for. Mine had a maker’s mark on it.

What is it made of, ceramic or metal? Very cool!! Oops, did not see you said it looked to be clay.

Thank you for your reply!
@lynnestreasures you believe it looks like clay? Does it turn dark/black like that after several uses?
So if you and I are right I believe I’m not suppose to try to clean it isn’t it?
I have no idea how much I could/should ask for it cause I didn’t find nothing similar or close :(

UPDATE

Ok, thank you again for the reply! I believe the best thing to do would be to put it at auction!

tks
