I made a purchase and seller did not send item. Seller does not respond. Bonanza is no help. I filed a claim with paypal and seller does not respond to them. It appears to be a scam orchestrated by the seller. If bonanza is to survive they need some assurances to buyers and sellers. I clearly won’t be back until they do.

This in no way is Bonanza’s fault, it’s the seller. Just like buyer scam seller, there are, sadly, scammy sellers and some slip through the cracks.
I would continue your effort to get your money back with PayPal. If that seller isn’t responding I should think you’ll get a full refund.
In the future, you can take a little of the old-fashioned but very effective approach of “buyer beware” and check to see if the seller has been around recently. Just click on the profile and it will tell you when they last logged in, which can be helpful in knowing if a booth has been “abandoned”.
Good luck – I really don’t see why PP wouldn’t issue you a refund. As a seller, I know they want a quick response to resolve these problems.

and to add
Yes, if a seller has not checked in for a while, does not reply to messages on a continuous basis, does not contact them when asked or starts to have a history of problems…their booth will be closed.
