I’m brand new here and debating on whether to open a shop or not. I’m confused about the advertising and can’t figure out how the platinum, gold and titanium subscriptions relate to the economy, basic, standard, etc. commissions. Can someone please explain? And I’m wondering if I really should hold off on advertising for a while to begin with?

Advertising and the membership levels have nothing to do with each other. The paid membership is what you should hold off on. Most people starting out do not need it. On the other hand, advertising is absolutely necessary. If your items are set up correctly, with brand name and UPC or MPN, you will be seen in Google shopping. Without that, there’s very little visibility. Good luck to you.

I’ve seen in the beginning some list with membership’s content, but I don’t see it right now to compare which level of the advertising has each of them.
When I had an economy commission (without a membership), I didn’t find any of my items in the Google shopping, so after a while I’ve stopped it, at least for now.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
