Can a field be added to the product page?

A field that is required by Google Shopping is not among the list of choices for some products that I sell. Unfortunately, that makes me describe those items as “used” in order for them to appear in Google Shopping when they are, indeed, new. Is there a way to add a field, or at least the answer that would ordinarily be in that field, into the existing product pages?

This request made on the submit an idea page of Bonanza a few days ago doesn’t even appear to have been reviewed.

Thanks

What is the field that you are requesting…

any trait can be added in batch edit-Search Optimize

be aware that google will only accept new, used and refurbished…

However, if you items are showing as used instead of new..

Go to batch edit
Search optimize

You will see a listing of your items with the traits and attributes in double brackets..[[[URL removed]

If the condition is not correct

Select the items that need to be changed

Put in the attribute or trait that needs to be removed (exactly the way you see it) in the Remove box

and add correct the item trait/attribute in the Add box

Any of the traits/attributes can be added/changed by this method.

For traits to be added to a specific category..you could in past request it here…it will take time for bonz to review

Thanks for this.

When I have am item like that I go to the New or Used, and instead type in “Pre Owned” Google WILL accept that.

You can add as many custom form fields to your product page as you need. You can use the Shopify UI Elements Generator tool to easily generate the HTML and Liquid code for each form field that you want to add to your cart page. [URL removed] [URL removed]

To Answer Brilliantly

Remember these tips:

  • Use links to other sources to support your opinions
  • Use examples where possible
  • Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?

Should I post a comment or an answer?

You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?

Post an answer for:

  • Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question

Post a comment for:

  • "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
  • When you would like the original poster to provide more details
  • When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
