So apparently there is a new process where if you have FVF of over $100, or you have not had a sale in over 60 days, they will charge your card on file before they allow the buyer to buy from you.
They’ve always charged when fees hit $100, but it was never instantly at the time of purchase where they denied the checkout.
For mine, I had a $1800 sale, and they tried to charge my card which is a debit card linked to a One Pay account. I keep the balance under $200 because it is my online business fees fund. I add money to it from my bank as needed, but since I never have a bill over $100 it never happens.. Well, the fee was $196 so they wouldn’t complete the sale. I’ve been a seller on Bonanza since 3 months after the site began. Almost 10k transactions, and that’s never happened to ANYONE buying from me. It’s a good thing I don’t get overdraft charges for debit declines like I do with my bank. When the card gets declined, it also gets deleted from the site and you get to go round and round trying to add it for 10 minutes because it won’t accept the first 5 times.
This is REALLY, REALLY a bad business practice. If you aren’t savvy enough to integrate payments (as promised 2 years ago) like eBay, Mercari, Amazon, Poshmark, or others, you have no business trying to charge fees before you allow a sale to go through. I don’t care if you haven’t sold anything in 60 days, or if the fee is over $100. Really, really bad business.

They did that to me a few months ago but I figured out it was a non existent sale because the bank had no record of anything attempting to be charged on my card. They were for some reason trying to get me to update a card that was expiring the next month is the best I can figure as to why the big lie. It really angered me though because at first, I believed it was an actual sale. Like you I have been here since the beginning and no respect at all. The sale was small though I believe under fifty dollars and no one ever bought it or contacted me about it and seller support was unhelpful and unapologetic considering the card was still good with plenty of funds available and I had a credit fee balance well over what would have been used by the sale.
