good evening, I’ve lately become very frustrated with Ebay and decided to give Bonanza a try. I’m a part time reseller and would really like some advise on how to make the best of this website.
I’ve done a lot of reading and know that using social media is a big factor on this website but my problem is that I barely used social media. I’m only on Facebook and twitter and even then I do not pay them attention. With that being said, what would be my best path to make the most out of Bonanza?
Would a gold membership be worth it for now? I’m leaning towards yes considering the shipping fees being lowered. exactly how does the FVF work on this site? I’m still a bit confused because I’m not understanding if it’s only 9% if I keep it at that ad rate or if something gets added on.
Does this site have a mobile app like ebay has? I’m huge on communication with my customers and enjoy having the ability to do that via mobile. Does the app(if there is one) allow uploading of photos and putting up listings? Or is that all done via a desktop?
I’m a part time reseller that mainly sells used toys but have a ton of other things in my inventory that ranges from electronics, videogames, magazines, shoes and clothing if that helps any.
Looking forward to any advise and thanks for hearing me out. I’m sure I will have a lot more to ask so I’ll just add it on here as to not overflood the forums.

Now, for my personal take on this…in general, tier memberships (Silver, Gold, Platinum) compared to the “free” (no membership option) gets you increased views of your items along with some nice booth management options. A higher FVF rate (9%+ compared to the 3% option), also known as ADVERTISING, gets you more Google Shopping views. Both of those options potentially give you more EXPOSURE. Social media posting of your items on FB, Instagram, twitter, etc certainly helps expose your items.
However, that doesn’t mean that you will necessarily sell more. After all, you have to have a good product, have a good price (especially compared to any competition), provide good service and have a good-looking booth. Remember you can take a horse to water (or your booth), but you can’t necessarily make him drink (buy your items).
Good luck with your sales and Bonanza experience!

I really get the best experience with Bonanza. A Bonanza seller should always maintain good quality.

If you hope Bonanza will replace your selling on ebay you will be sadly disappointed. I also sell on ebay & the sales I MIGHT make here are pocket change compared to what I make selling on ebay. You will also find that Bonanza doesn’t offer either buyer or seller protection should a problem arise. I just had a buyer scam me out of over 20 bucks by doing a chargeback of his payment to paypal. I have no protections through Bonanza to protect me & for some reason paypal said I didn’t qualify for their seller protection either. Maybe because the sale was on Bonanza?? I always had paypal protection when ebay used paypal as a payment option. I understand you have reservations about ebays managed payments~~I did too. I chose to have weekly pay outs. Every Tuesday morning the $$ are in my bank account. When you combine what you were paying ebay in FVF and paypal for their fees there really isn’t that much difference in ebays managed payments. I can live with managed payments when I can make good sales there compared to the sales I make here. Test the waters here before dropping ebay~~ebay is where the buyers are. I’m lucky to make 6 sales a year here.

Please give any advice on how to properly sell on Bonanza, or if its even worth the time..
Sell 10+ items daily on eBay, set up a Bonanza account a week ago and still have 0 views on over 5+ listings… Even Mercari & eCrater have be getting way more views, && I even signed up for the 30% bonanza commission split that they take with still no positive results…

The memberships are really not worth it. They don’t generate any more sales than not having a membership. Like achobbies said, you can pay some members to do the social media advertising for you.

Offer a coupon to your customers. It will show at the top of the page when viewing the listing. People like a deal.
Excellent photos and always quality like someone else mentioned. Concentrate a lot on keyword phrases at the beginning of your descriptions. There’s not a lot of internal traffic here like on eBay….so we rely on Google as being our best friend.
Best of luck to you.
