hello friend i sold pogs back in the early 90’s and have 1000’s of them myself – some of them are worth a little some are not worth the paper there printed on ( lol ) check around some auction sites to see what others are selling them for and what they have sold for in the past — hope this info helps ♥

They are not worth much now. I have seen lots go for $20.00. Hang onto them until trading cards become popular again. Fads come around again. I have a ton of them also. I’m hoping they make a come back.

Pogs (also called milk caps) returned to popularity in the mid 90’s. They typically fall in the trading card category, but can also be listed under “games” as it is a game.
“Pogs” are round milk or bottle caps usually made of card board. In the 90’s they had pictures of sports teams, cartoon or comic characters, politicians, and companies; all adding to their collector value.
“Slammers” (heavier pogs, used to slam the other pogs) usually hold the highest value. But, again, this is relative to demand.
Pogs became popular again in the 90s as a result of the World Pog Federation reintroducing the game.
Due to the popularity various companies would give pogs away with the purchase of their product (eg McDonald’s) Disney offered a line of Pogs, and even California offered a series of pogs to spread the DARE message (anti-drug campaign here in Ca.)
The basic gameplay is to “slam” the heavier pog on the stack of pogs. Typically any pog that landed face up would then be returned to the player’s stack; any that landed face down would then go to the opposing player. Usually it was play for keeps; but, players could agree to return pogs.
Collector value was high during the fad, which disappeared just as quickly as it appeared. Some pogs and pog sets could sell for very high dollar amounts. Factoring into the value is condition, and what is on the pog, and demand for that particular pog. Usually the “cool” looking pogs with interesting designs would create a more desirable value. Of course scarcity would also factor into the value.
To answer the question of value for today, the demand for pogs is low, thus, chances for getting huge dollar amounts is slim. I would recommend holding on to them, until the fad returns.
As an alternative, look for pogs that have a popular theme. Star Trek last year, for example would have been a good time to sell any ST pogs (not that there were any ST pogs; just as an example); or, when the Mighty Ducks won the Stanley Cup may have been a great time to sell the Del Taco inaugural season pogs. Unfortunately, right now, pogs are not valuable as a whole.
