Lots of interesting answers here. Adding another perspective, collectors don’t often refer to their collections as ‘stuffed animals.’ Steiff, Merrythought, Hermann, Chiltern, Chad Valley, etc., all have high value to collectors. There are original artist animals that can range in price from $20 to $1000 and up. There are also nice limited edition collectible animals that are more affordable like Boyd’s, Raikes, Gund, Vanderbear, etc. Then there are lots of stuffed animals that you’re lucky to get $1 for at a garage sale. If any of your stuffies have tags, I would suggest starting your research with those by searching out similar items on the various sites like Bonanzle.

i agree. Steiff and Vanderbear are really the tried and true collectibles that do not loose their value due to being a trendy fad. Trendy fads are OK; if you catch the wave fast and move them when and were. Look what happened to beannies—the biggest hoax of the century. of course this is just my honest opinion

You can try Pokemon. Pikachu is the most popular. There is also Sponge Bob.

Because of mass production, many of the so-called collectible stuffed toys have lost their value. However, many are still personal favorites amongst collectors, such as the Ty Beanies, Care Bears,Gund, Disney, Precious Moments,etc. Many of the Robert Raikes still maintain good value. Some of the Tys still have good value but you’d have to do some research to find which ones have the higher values.

If you have names of the stuffed animals, you may want to just do a search. For instance, the small & large Henrietta & Henry dogs from the 1970s were going for $100 – $300 a few months ago.

I had a large one… don’t know what happened to it.
I have a small one, but not parting with it.
I also have an original Mogwai Gizmo.

The Muppets, Sesame Street, & Disney of course are also collectibles. I agree with Barn-Steiff stuffed animals hold their value, & I also agree about the beanies-my daughter still has tons of them!

It just depends what people are looking for. I’ve seen things go for 1.00 or less and some go for 100 or more. I have Captain Eo hooter and fuzz.. disney.. not listed yet.

if Beanies are valuable someone please tell me. My husband went crazy when they first came out and we have about 300 of them. They are all with tags, protective tag holder and a acrylic case.

As for valuable, I have every Winnie the Pooh that Disney had put out and I have some bears I purchased with a wood face, not sure of where they came from. I think the Boyd bears also are highly collectible. Like everything else, it depends on how much someone wants it.

I have lots of great character toys too. curious George just isnt selling at shows or online. not sure why, maybe because they spit out a billion junky ones from C and people are worried they will get one of those, there were also some recall ones with vinyl faces.. that had lead in them .. who is to know why something is good one day and gone the next. but I love my toys.
I like that edit thing ;-) well not to edit, I always start by searching google and see how many responses there are then follow links back to bonz or other Well known sites to get a good view of what has sold and for what… then I list it for what I want to anyway.

If you are going to buy plush to sell, think of children’s books. Librarians and teachers are always looking for plush toys to decorate their classroom or library. Paddington Bear, Olivia the Pig, Madeline, Where the Wild Things Are, Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, sell very well as well as other book titles. I can’t keep them in my booth long enough.
